"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Hebrews 11:1.
Why were the Scriptures written?
"For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope." Romans 15:4.
Why should God's wonderful works be rehearsed to the children?
"We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, and His strength, and His wonderful works that He hath done. . . . That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep His commandments." Psalms 78:4-7.
